Before entering the legal profession, Mr. Talos founded and operated an automotive business for more than a decade and later worked as a biomedical engineer. His experiences in business and engineering taught him to view problems from both practical and technical perspectives. Owning a business showed him that decisions are rarely abstract, they affect real people, while engineering taught him to question assumptions and understand how individual details fit into the larger picture. Together, those experiences continue to shape the judgment, precision, and client-focused perspective he brings to the practice of law.
At Thomas Rubin & Kelley, his practice focuses on civil litigation and insurance defense. He represents individuals, businesses, and insurers in matters involving personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, and other complex liability disputes. He approaches each case with close attention to the factual record and a commitment to developing efficient, well-supported litigation strategies. His combined business and technical background helps him remain focused on his clients' objectives while evaluating the medical, scientific, and technical issues that frequently arise in litigation.
Mr. Talos earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, magna cum laude, from Arizona State University, with a minor in Business Management. He later earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Tulane University Law School. While at Tulane, he served as a Senior Articles Editor for the Tulane Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property and completed a judicial externship with the Honorable Carl J. Barbier of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
Outside of work, Mr. Talos enjoys spending time with his family and friends, exploring Arizona, and continuing his lifelong interest in anything powered by an engine.
