Colby S. Itkoff

My career has been shaped by a lifelong interest in language, reasoning, rhetoric, and exploring different perspectives. While these skills ultimately led me to the legal field, my path began as a high school teacher in South Florida. During the three years I spent dedicated to my community in this role, I took great pleasure in acting as a trusted advocate for my students, who often relied on me for guidance and support. In doing so, I served not only as an educator but also as a mentor, confidante, and guide in their personal and academic growth. Building these intimate connections with my students was incredibly valuable to me, and I aim to build equally enduring relationships with my clients and the Arizona legal community. Working at Thomas Rubin & Kelley allows me to continually challenge myself and broaden my expertise, reflecting my commitment to personal and professional growth.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida State University, majoring in Editing, Writing, and the Media, and minoring in History. Later, I earned my Juris Doctor degree from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. My professional collegiate experience afforded me the ability to work in a multitude of fields, including non-profit organizations, public universities, private tech corporations, the Arizona judiciary, federal agencies, and private sector legal work.

When I am not at work, I can usually be found watching my favorite sports teams compete or setting my fantasy football lineup. As a native Miamian, I always cheer on the Miami Heat, Florida Panthers and Miami Dolphins, even when they are painfully hard to root for. Saturdays in the fall are dedicated to watching college football and blaring the Florida State University war chant. I also love hitting local thrift shops and antique stores to add a new tchotchke to my ever-growing collection of small, shiny things.
